This is what fixing it looks like.

An email list is the one audience you own. These guides cover growing one the right way, with lead magnets and opt-ins that bring in buyers, not just subscribers. When we work with clients, this is where we start if the list is small or stalled.
Small or stalled list? We build the system that grows it. This is one of the things we do for clients, not just write about. Send us your setup and we will tell you honestly where it is stuck.
Get a free auditYou build an email list fast by offering something specific enough that people would have paid for it: a template, checklist, cheat sheet, short email course, calculator, case study, script, quiz, discount code, waitlist or community invite, rather than vague 'updates'.
The lead magnets that converted over 50% of visitors were all narrow, quick to use and shown to warm readers: swipe files, named frameworks, audit checklists, fill-in templates, free calculators, campaign teardowns, five-day email courses, resource vaults, discount-plus-guide bundles and private access invites.
Double opt-in (asking new subscribers to click a confirmation link) is better for deliverability, meaning whether your emails reach the inbox, for most senders, because the extra step filters out typos, fake addresses and spam traps before they drag down your sender reputation.
To pitch a guest post to a big website, spend fifteen minutes reading the site first, then send a short email to a named editor that references one specific recent article, names a gap they have not covered, proposes a working title with two or three points, and links a writing sample.
